Common questions

How do stars and levels work?

Every topic has Easy, Medium and Hard levels of ten questions. Stars come from first-try answers: 9 or 10 right earns three stars, 7 or 8 earns two, and 5 or 6 earns one. Earning a star unlocks the next level. Questions answered wrongly come back at the end of the level, so children always finish by getting them right.

My child is a different age to the world they're in.

Children can tap any age at the top of the Learn tab to visit that world, so they can revisit easier maths or try something harder.

How do I get into the Grown-ups area?

Tap Grown-ups and answer the multiplication question. This keeps settings and player profiles away from little fingers.

Can more than one child use the app?

Yes. In Grown-ups, choose Add a player. Each child gets their own name, avatar, age, progress and stickers on the same device.

Can questions be read aloud?

Yes. Tap the speaker on any question, or turn on Read aloud in Grown-ups to hear every question automatically. It starts switched on when the first player is 5 or 6.

How do I reset progress or delete a player?

Open Grown-ups, tap the ••• button next to the player, and choose Reset progress or Delete player. You'll be asked to confirm, and it can't be undone.

Will progress move to a new iPhone?

Progress is stored on the device and is included in your iPhone backup, so restoring a new iPhone from an iCloud or computer backup brings it across.

Does Numo Math need the internet?

No. It works fully offline, has no ads, no accounts and no in-app purchases. See our Privacy Policy.
